Hi!
I’m a huge animal lover and I was wondering if anyone could help me solve
my problem…
I have a dog who’s name is Elvis and a cat who’s name is Princess!
I’ve discovered that Elvis had worms, (is it possible that he got from other pets???)
so I want to my vet and he gave him a de-worming medication in a tablet form but he wouldn’t swallow it!!
I didn’t want to use too much force so I tried wrapping it with some sausage but he some how figured it out!
please help me!!
Tami

My Vet advised me that when giving my dog a pill, I should give her a piece of bread (what I use) without the pill FIRST, then put the pill in a second piece of bread. When I gave her the bread and pill first, she too was finding the pill (a big one) and spitting it out every time, but when I tried putting the pill in the second piece of bread, she ate it right away without any hesitancy.

The Vet explained that a dog will check the first piece you give him/her for anything foreign, and if it is ok, then will trust the second and any subsequent pieces you give. Interesting, huh?
